The Scientific Knowledge and Its Public Understanding: Interdisciplinary Perspectives conference provides a scholarly forum for the exchange of experimental and theoretical approaches to problems in science communication, the public understanding of science and socioscientific controversies.

This international meeting will be held at the 'Salón de actos'/'Aula de Grados' of the joint Faculty of Philosophy/Faculty of Psychology campus in Seville, Spain. Presentation of work related to science communication, socioscientific controversies, epistemology of science communication, experimental philosophy of science and pseudoscience is welcome. Attendance is free but we would appreciate if you could notify us at [email protected] .

Linda Skitka is a Distinguished professor and associate department head of psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a courtesy appointment in political science. Skitka's influential research bridges a number of areas of inquiry including social, political, and moral psychology. She has been president-elect for the Society for Personality and Social Psychology and president of the International Society for Justice Research.

Mikkel Gerken is professor at the University of Southern Denmark, specialized in epistemology and philosophy of mind. Previously he was an associate professor at the University of Edinburgh. His latest book is Scientific Testimony. Its Roles in Science and Society. (2022, OUP).

Stephan Lewandowsky  is the chair of cognitive psychology at the School of Psychology, University of Bristol. He is one of the leading scholars on the phenomena of science denial and misinformation and has received numerous awards and prizes. Lewandosky currently directs an international EU-funded project on how to  immunize people against scientific misconceptions.
